Ecomodo aims to…
make it the norm for all to lend & borrow seldom used objects, skills & spaces. Good returns for people, pocket & planet.
The idea came from …
an occasion when I needed something for a day and didn’t want to buy new… but didn’t know who might be able to lend it.
I believe it is the right moment for Ecomodo to take off…
because there is a convergence of trends (community, sustainability, frugality, technology) alongside quality of life expectations.
The easiest way to explain Ecomodo is…
that we connect those who have stuff with those who need it. It’s saving borrowers money as well as earning extra money for lenders & charities.
The biggest misperception about Ecomodo is…
“Neither a borrower nor a lender be”. We let the cautious restrict their lending to trusted circles as well as insuring their item.
The best moment so far…
was connecting the first person who wanted something with someone who could provide it. I had two happy members and one delighted charity.
The biggest challenge to overcome…
is changing modern consumer attitudes and behaviour towards lending and borrowing to achieve critical mass.
If I could tell readers one thing…
it would be that trust comes from real world experience. Ecomodo circles allow people to map their lending to real world communities. This makes all the difference.
